When you join or participate in the Relief Association, we may collect the following information as needed to administer benefits and fulfill our obligations under Pennsylvania law:

- Membership status and service dates
- Emergency contact information
- Benefit and assistance request details
- Beneficiary designations
From Website Visitors
This website does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking of any kind. We collect no data from visitors browsing this site.
How We Use Information
Member information is used solely for legitimate association purposes:
- Administering member benefits and assistance programs
- Communicating meeting schedules and association business
- Processing benefit and insurance claims
- Complying with Pennsylvania law, IRS requirements, and Auditor General audits
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to any third party.
Information Sharing
We share personal information only when necessary and appropriate:
- PA Auditor General — as required during periodic audits of relief association funds
- Insurance providers — to process benefit claims on behalf of members
- Legal requirements — in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or legal process
- Emergency contacts — in the event of a member emergency
Data Retention
- Membership records: duration of membership plus 7 years
- Financial records: 7 years minimum, as required by Pennsylvania law and audit requirements
- Meeting minutes: retained permanently as part of the organizational record

As a member, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request corrections to inaccurate information
- Opt out of non-essential communications

Pennsylvania Law Compliance
BBFRA operates in compliance with applicable Pennsylvania statutes, including 35 Pa.C.S. § 7411 et seq. (Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Association Act), the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law, and the Pennsylvania Breach of Personal Information Notification Act.
